These AI flyer design prompts are complete briefs, written for Flyer Maker in Toybox AI. Each one already holds a headline, the weekday and date, start and end times, a street address, who it is for, a price and a call to action, so the tool has fewer gaps to fill with words of its own. They also work pasted into ChatGPT, Gemini or another image tool as a first draft, though each tool lays out the page its own way. None of them needs a photo. Swap in your own names, dates and places, keep the order, and read the result slowly before it goes on a wall. For wording and design advice by niche, browse flyer ideas for dozens of occasions.
How a good AI flyer design prompt is built
A flyer prompt works when it carries every fact a stranger needs to show up, in the order they look for it. Six parts cover almost any flyer:
- Headline in quotes. Two to six words: Headline: "Fall Car Wash". Name the event, not the organizer.
- When, down to the minute. The weekday, month and day, then when it starts and ends: "Saturday, October 10, 9 AM to 1 PM".
- Where, down to the door. Place name and street address, plus the entrance or room if it is not obvious.
- Who and how much. "Ages 21 and up", "Families welcome", "$10 per car", or "Free".
- The exact call to action. "Call 555-0171", "RSVP by October 17", "Apply at the front counter". Add a deadline when there is one.
- The look in one line. A style, two colors and one picture, plus which detail should print largest.
Here is the same structure as a fill-in template:
[Event or business name]. Headline: "[2 to 6 words]". [Weekday, month and day], [start time] to [end time], at [place name], [street address]. For [who it is for]. [Price, or Free]. [One detail that makes people come]. [Call to action, exactly as it should print, with a deadline]. [Style] style, [two colors], one [picture] as the only image, with the date in large type.Flyer Maker has fields for some of this. "Contact info" holds a phone, website or address (keep it under 120 characters), and Flyer Maker uses only the contact details you type there. "More options" sets Flyer type, Style, Colors, Pictures, Tone and Layout. Anything you leave alone uses the defaults: Event, Modern, Vibrant, Abstract, Friendly and Clean.

Poster prompts for events and shops
Using an AI poster maker with a prompt takes the same six parts as a flyer brief, cut shorter, because people read a poster from a few steps back. Each brief below also serves as an AI poster generator prompt in other image tools that set text, and in Flyer Maker, where the Tall size (3:4) is the one for paper. For poster sizes and print math, see the AI poster maker guide.

Tips for better AI flyer prompt results
- Put the printed words in quotes. OpenAI's prompting guide for its image models and Google's Gemini image prompting guide both tell you to put exact text in quotation marks. OpenAI also suggests spelling out unusual names one letter at a time, such as "H-O-N-E-Y-R-I-L-L".
- Write times the way they should print. "7 PM to 11 PM", not "evening". A flyer with a start time and no end time sends people guessing. When the time is missing entirely, Flyer Maker can print a vague label such as "Time: Varies".
- Describe the picture you want, not the one you don't. Google's guide recommends positive phrasing: ask for "an empty street" rather than "no cars". For a flyer, "one illustrated pumpkin in the top corner" leaves more room for text than a list of objects.
- Name two colors. "Navy and gold" is specific. Flyer Maker's "My brand colors" option doesn't open a color picker, so spell out the colors in the brief.
- Fix one thing per round. OpenAI's guide favors small follow-ups that each change one element and restate what to preserve: "change only the date; keep the layout, colors and all other text".
Fixes for common problems
| Problem | Add this to your prompt |
|---|---|
| A button reads "CALL TO ACTION" | The exact action: "Call 555-0171 to book" |
| A slogan you never wrote appears | "Print only the text in this description, with no extra slogan" |
| The date is small and hard to find | "Make the date the second-biggest text on the page" |
| The weekday doesn't match the date | Check a calendar, then retype both: "Saturday, October 17" |
| The picture crowds the text | "One small illustration in the top third, plain background behind the text" |
| Accents are missing in Spanish text | Type them yourself: "sábado", "reservación", "¿Preguntas?" |
| A fake QR code appears | Remove any QR request; in Flyer Maker, switch on "Leave a blank square for your QR code" |
| A schedule or price list looks cramped | "Show the times as a grid" and choose the "Packed" layout |
| A digit in the phone number is wrong | The number written once, exactly as it should print: "Call 555-0171" |
Any AI image tool can still slip on small text. The explainer on why AI messes up text covers the reasons and more fixes.
Using these briefs in ChatGPT or Gemini
The facts in each brief carry over unchanged; the Flyer Maker settings don't. Neither ChatGPT nor Gemini has Flyer Maker's Style, Colors or Layout menus, so write those choices into the brief as words: "bold style", "navy and gold", "the times as a grid". For the shape, write "tall 3:4 poster" into the brief, or in ChatGPT pick it from the aspect ratio control. There is no "Contact info" field either, so the phone number stays in the brief, and a QR code is something to paste in yourself afterward, never something to ask for.
ChatGPT Images is included on every plan, and the Free plan has its own separate image limit. In the Gemini app, the image tool is the "Create images" option. Google lists it for ages 18 and up, and it stamps generated images with a visible watermark as well as Google's invisible SynthID mark, so a flyer made there prints with that mark on it. Before you rely on ChatGPT for a flyer with prices and dates, read can ChatGPT make a flyer.
Run these prompts in Flyer Maker
"Try this prompt" under each block opens Flyer Maker with that brief already typed in. Pick Tall for paper or Portrait for Instagram, then select "Create flyer"; the design takes about 30 seconds and currently costs 80 credits (90 for 2K, 100 for 4K). Check each date, time, address and phone number, and describe any correction in the "Want to change something?" box (currently 60 credits, 70 for 2K, 90 for 4K). The step-by-step guide on how to make a flyer with AI covers sizing and printing.
