Tips for a plushie that still looks like you
Choose a photo where your hair is clear. Plush hair is yarn, felt or fur, so its color and shape are the biggest clue that the toy is you. Say it in words too: "shoulder-length wavy black yarn hair with bangs".
Turn small features into stitching. Glasses become "black stitched frames", freckles become "tiny embroidered dots", and a beard becomes "a brown felt beard".
Name your outfit colors. "A red flannel shirt and blue jeans" gives the toy clothes people recognize from your photos.
Face a window when you take the selfie. Daylight shows your real hair color, and on a plush, hair color is the main clue. The upload box also offers your phone's front camera.
Keep the setting simple. A bed, a shelf or a desk keeps attention on the toy. A crowded scene makes the plushie small.
Give the toy a name tag. Type a short name in "Name on the box" (40 characters at most), then check its spelling on the finished picture.
Making a plushie in ChatGPT or Gemini instead
Chat apps can do the plushie trend too, but you describe the whole toy yourself. OpenAI's App Store listing for ChatGPT says it can generate images from a description or change an existing picture with a short typed instruction, so you upload a selfie and type something like "turn me into a plushie". Gemini's help page adds two conditions for photo edits in its app, a signed-in account and an age of 18 or over, and saves 2K downloads for Google AI plan members (1K otherwise).

How to turn yourself into a plushie in Toy Studio

- Under "Your photo", add a front-facing selfie, a JPG or PNG no bigger than 10 MB.
- Pick "Plushie" under "Toy style". To turn yourself into a stuffed animal such as a teddy bear or a bunny, pick "Custom" and describe it in up to 200 characters.
- Open "More options" and describe the fabric, outfit and setting in "Extra details". A name in "Name on the box" is optional.
