Where the AI caricature trend came from
The AI caricature trend took off in early February 2026, and Creative Bloq called it the year's first big social media craze. People signed in to ChatGPT, attached a sharp head-and-shoulders photo and typed "Create a caricature of me and my job based on everything you know about me." Back came a playful cartoon with oversized features and a few props hinting at the person's work.
The original prompt draws on what ChatGPT has picked up from your past conversations, so Creative Bloq says it works best for regular users. Its advice for newer users is to write the job, hobbies and visual details into the prompt instead. Smart Editor has no chat history to draw on: it works only from your photo and the instruction you type.
Writing the details yourself also decides what the picture gives away. When Creative Bloq's writer tried the original prompt with little ChatGPT history, it filled the gaps with details about him found on the internet. Read the result before you post it where coworkers and strangers will see it.

How a good AI caricature trend prompt is built
A caricature trend prompt needs six parts, and any part you skip gets filled in by the AI.
- Likeness. "Keep my face, hair and glasses recognizable."
- Exaggeration. "Big head on a small body" is the classic caricature look. Add one feature to push, like a grin.
- Job setting. Where you work: a classroom, a hospital hallway, a kitchen line.
- Props. Three to five objects from your day. More than five turns into clutter.
- One personal detail. A hobby, a pet or a habit your coworkers would recognize.
- Style. 3D render, marker cartoon or watercolor, plus the background.

Start with a head-and-shoulders photo. A sharp, front-facing photo in even light gives the face the most to work with. Group shots and sunglasses make the caricature guess.
Keep the likeness line in every prompt. End each version, even a style-only one, with "Keep my face, hair and glasses recognizable", and swap in your own features.
Name three to five props. Real props from your workday make the joke land for coworkers. A long list turns the scene into a pile of objects.
Say which feature to exaggerate. If you don't, the AI picks one, and it may not be one you'd choose.
Leave out what you wouldn't post. Skip your employer's name, badge numbers, and anything that shows where you live. Toybox's privacy policy says your prompts, uploads and results aren't used to train AI models.
