AI Tools for Social Media Marketing: Posts, Short Videos and Captions

For a business running its own accounts, AI tools for social media cover three jobs: the post graphic, the short vertical clip and the caption. Write the offer once and reuse the same date and price in all three. Label realistic AI video where TikTok and YouTube require it, use TikTok's Commercial Music Library for business posts, and disclose paid creator deals.

AI tools for social media help a small business make the three pieces behind most posts: the graphic, the short vertical clip and the caption. For a shop, studio or restaurant running its own accounts, the part that trips people up is the set of rules that catch business accounts: TikTok's commercial music rule, labels on realistic AI video, and disclosure when you pay a creator. Each section below covers one piece and the rule attached to it. If you're a creator building a personal channel, AI tools for content creators covers that side.

Which AI tools for social media fit which post

One tool per job. Credit costs for the Toybox AI tools are as of September 2026.

Post piece Tool Cost Check before posting
Sale, event or announcement graphic Flyer Maker, Portrait 4:5 80 credits at 1K Every price, date and address in the image
Short vertical clip Video Creator (Pro plan), Vertical 9:16 350 credits per clip Label it if it looks real
Lower-cost clip Video Creator Lite (Pro plan) 180 credits at 720p, 220 at 1080p Same labels
Caption and post copy AI Writer, "Social post" type 5 credits Same facts as the graphic
Scheduling A scheduler such as Buffer Free plan for up to 3 channels Posting times and links

Before you settle on the best AI tools for social media, time how long one finished piece takes to proofread. A wrong date baked into a graphic means making a new image and posting it again.

AI for Instagram posts and Facebook feeds

When you use AI for social media posts such as a sale or an event, start with the graphic, since it's mostly words and a clear layout. Flyer Maker designs one from a description, and its default size, Portrait 4:5, is the one it labels "Instagram post". At 1K it's 1024 x 1280 pixels, and at 2K it's 1536 x 1920. For every placement and size, see the Instagram post size guide.

Expect labels on generated images. When Meta finds industry-standard AI signals in a file, or you disclose AI use, Facebook, Instagram and Threads show an "AI info" label. For a sale graphic that's fine. For a photo that's supposed to show your real shop, your real food or your real product, post the real photo.

A post image is one picture, so a carousel means making each slide separately with the same settings. The AI Instagram post maker guide walks through that slide-by-slide method.

Short vertical videos for Reels and Shorts

A short clip needs the vertical shape and a few seconds of motion. YouTube's Shorts camera makes videos up to 3 minutes long, and a vertical video you upload as a Short can be up to 1080p. Video Creator, powered by Google Veo 3.1, makes one clip from what you type in "Describe your video": 4, 6 or 8 seconds long, in Vertical 9:16 for TikTok and Reels or Wide 16:9 for YouTube and desktop. It requires Pro or a higher plan, each clip currently costs 350 credits whatever the length, and clips are 720p. Video Creator Lite, which uses Veo 3.1 Lite, costs 180 credits at 720p or 220 at 1080p.

Describe one shot, not a story: "Slow push-in on a wooden crate of tulip bulbs on a potting bench, soft morning light through a greenhouse window, dust in the light, no people, no text." To start from your own product photo, tap "Start from a photo". Clips come with sound. There's no separate setting for it, so describe the sounds in your prompt, or swap in music in the app you post from. Clips take a few minutes to make.

YouTube requires a disclosure, set with "AI use" in YouTube Studio when you upload, for realistic AI content such as a scene that never happened, and it lists AI-generated music as one example. Clearly unrealistic scenes, beauty filters and an AI-written title or script don't need one.

AI for TikTok: music and labels for business accounts

AI for TikTok comes with two rules that catch businesses out. The first is music. TikTok's business help center says businesses can't use the general music library commercially and should use the Commercial Music Library, a pre-cleared library of about 1 million songs, for organic posts as well as ads. Video Creator clips come with their own sound, described in your prompt. To use a song instead, pick it from that library when you post and turn the clip's original sound down.

The second is labeling. TikTok's Community Guidelines say a post needs a label when AI or heavy editing makes people or scenes look real. Use TikTok's AIGC label, or add a clear caption or sticker yourself. Small edits such as color correction or cropping, and artistic styles such as anime, don't need one. In May 2024, TikTok also began reading Content Credentials from some other platforms to label AI content automatically. A stylized clip of tulip bulbs is low risk. A realistic clip of a crowd at your store that never happened needs the label, and it would mislead customers even with one.

Captions and post copy

A caption should say the same thing the graphic says, in the same words. AI Writer drafts one from a brief of up to 2,000 characters in "What should we write?". Choose "Social post" under Type and Short under Length, and give it the facts plus the tone, since there's no tone control: "Instagram caption for Greenhollow Garden Center. Fall bulb sale, 30% off tulip and daffodil bulbs through Sunday, November 1. Free planting talk Saturday, October 24 at 10 AM. Friendly and plain, two sentences, then three hashtags." The output is plain text, each caption is currently 5 credits, and AI Writer works on the Free plan.

If a caption is part of a paid deal with a creator, or you gave them a free product, ask them to say so at the start of the post, for example with "Ad" or "Gifted". On Instagram, put it where it shows without tapping "more", or turn on the paid partnership label. The text under a TikTok video is small and easy to miss, so put the disclosure on screen too, and on Stories put it on the image itself. Give creators the exact wording and check the posts when they go up.

One offer across the graphic, the clip and the caption

For AI for social media content creation, start every format from the same written facts. Take one offer, such as a hypothetical garden center's bulb sale, and write it once: the discount, the end date, the hours, the address and the phone number. Then:

  1. Paste those facts into Flyer Maker for the feed graphic.
  2. Describe one shot of the product for a vertical clip, with no text in the video.
  3. Give AI Writer the same facts for the caption.
  4. Put the offer's end date in all three, and check that they match before anything posts.

If the sale is extended, fix the date in all three the same day.

Scheduling and posting

AI makes the pieces, and a scheduler posts them. You download images as PNG and clips as MP4, then upload them to each platform or to a scheduler. As of September 2026, Buffer's free plan connects up to 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel, and it includes Buffer's AI Assistant, which helps create, refine and repurpose posts. Its Essentials plan is $5 a month per channel, billed yearly at $60. For a small account, that free plan brings AI for social media marketing into the posting step without a subscription.

What to be careful about

  • Text inside images. A typo in a post graphic is baked into the image itself, so fixing it means making and posting a new image, not editing the caption.
  • Realistic AI video. Label it on TikTok and YouTube, and never show a real place, event or person doing something that didn't happen.
  • Music on business accounts. On TikTok, use the Commercial Music Library, including for organic posts.
  • Paid creators. Disclosures go at the start of the post, on the image for Stories, and not only in a TikTok description.
  • Staff and customers. An image of a real person needs that person's explicit consent; Toybox's Terms of Service require it.

Make this week's post in Flyer Maker

Start with the graphic, since the caption and the clip can reuse its facts.

  1. Go to Flyer Maker and sign in. One flyer currently costs 80 credits, so a new account's one-time 20 free credits need a top-up or a plan first.
  2. Write the offer into "Describe your flyer" with its price, dates, hours and address, plus the one action you want from readers, such as call, visit or book.
  3. Leave "Size" on Portrait, the option labeled "Instagram post", for feed posts, or choose Wide ("Screens and email") for a screen or an email header.
  4. Under "More options", pick a "Flyer type" such as Sale, and a "Style" and "Colors" that match your shop.
  5. Tap "Create flyer" and expect the result in about 30 seconds.
  6. Check every word. Delete any line you didn't write, such as an invented tagline, by describing it in the "Want to change something?" box (currently 60 credits for a 1K flyer).
  7. Download the PNG and paste the same facts into your caption.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI tools work best for social media?

Choose by the post you make most. Text-led graphics such as sales and events suit a flyer tool, Reels and TikToks suit a short-video tool, captions suit a writing tool, and posting on schedule suits a scheduler such as Buffer, whose free plan includes its AI Assistant. Then compare what one finished piece costs and how long it takes to correct a typo.

Can AI make Instagram posts for my business?

Yes. A flyer tool can design a sale or event post in the 4:5 portrait shape, and a writing tool can draft the caption from the same facts. Read every price, date and address on the image before you post it, because the text is part of the picture, so fixing it later means making and posting a new image.

Can I post AI-generated videos on TikTok?

Yes, with a label when they look real. TikTok's Community Guidelines say posts that use AI or heavy edits to show people or scenes that look real must be labeled, with TikTok's AIGC label or your own clear caption or sticker. TikTok also reads Content Credentials to label some AI content automatically. Business accounts should add music from the Commercial Music Library.

Do I have to label AI content on YouTube Shorts?

Only realistic content. YouTube requires disclosure when AI generates or meaningfully alters something that looks real, such as a realistic scene that didn't happen, and it lists AI-generated music as an example. Production help like an AI-written script or title, beauty filters and clearly unrealistic scenes don't need it. YouTube says disclosing won't limit a video's audience.

How much do the Toybox tools on this page cost?

Flyer Maker currently costs 80 credits for a 1K post image, AI Writer 5 credits per caption, and Video Creator 350 credits per clip on Pro or higher, with Video Creator Lite at 180 credits for 720p (as of September 2026). A new account's 20 free credits are a one-time grant, and plans currently start at $9.99 a month for 1,000 credits.
